Our Honeymoon Duex - Caribbean Cruise

Our wedding was June 21, 2008. We spent a couple of days in San Diego, CA, for our immediate honeymoon, but then took a Caribbean Cruise in December.

We boarded Celebrity's Constellation for a nine night - ten day cruise to the Caribbean at noon on Friday, December 12, after an all night flight from Los Angeles to Ft. Lauderdale.

This harbor was dug by the US government in the 1920's when the port at Ft. Lauderdale was built.

We set sail for St. Thomas at 4:30 PM. We would soon discover that ship time is very punctual.

Our first two days were at sea. What else was there to do than kick back, put our feet up, and enjoy the ride?

I took full advantage of the chance to dress up for our first formal dinner Friday evening. There were four couples at our table: our friends Dale and Cheryl from Palmdale; first time cruisers Dave and Paula from Ontario, Canada; and veteran cruisers Jim and Elaine - this was Jim's 61st cruise.

We enjoyed sitting out on deck though we tried to find spots not in the direct sunlight.

A favorite evening activity was sitting on deck 11 watching the rising full moon.

Our first port was Monday and Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Click here for the St. Thomas story.
