Andy's Cyber Ride: Mojave Desert and Southwest Mountains Railroad G scale garden railroading

February 28, 2005

The rain stopped this week, and I got onto the pike again. I now have the outter loop clamped with Split-Jaw rail clamps.

Today Ken ran his Dash-9 pulling two passenger cars to see how the clearance on the tunnel was.

We made a 3/4 inch adjustment.

My Hartland 2-4-0 Duchess Hilary Kay also ran the track today.

Ken's Dash 9, with its six pick up wheels and extra weight, had little trouble running on my dirty track. I had to do some track sanding (I used a drywall sander) before the Hilary Kay would run smoothly. Once the track was clean she ran well.

The Hilary Kay pulled two scratch built cars. Both are unfinished. Seen here for its internet debut is my scratch built caboose.
