My True Hope

My boyhood dreams of flying to the stars never came true, but I am not sad about not becoming an astronaut or fighter pilot. I do read and watch with interest the things happening in space exploration and development of new air technology. I continue to be fascinated by flight.

I may never visit the space around planet Earth or set my foot on the moon, but I am sure that one day I will no longer live on this earth.

While it is true that planet Earth had much beauty, it is a planet with very much saddness, also. There are earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, drought, accidents, and sickness. The earth's people do not honor and respect each other. We have crime, torture, persecution, and war. We hear rumors of "peace, peace," but there is no peace or hope on earth.

The only peace we can have is peace in the heart. The only hope we can have is hope of a life not on this earth. The Creator of planet Earth and of the planets and stars has seen our pain and suffering. Our pain and suffering has made Him very sad. He knows that our pain and suffering is caused by our disobedience to Him. He knows that unless we receive His peace in our hearts, our pain and suffering will last forever: we will have no hope.

In order to free us from our own disobedience, the Creator became a human being. His name is Jesus. He suffered pain for us by dying in our place. He came back to life to prove His power over death, disobedience, pain, and suffering. Now He wants to give us peace. He wants to give us hope. He wants to live in us now. He wants us to know we will live with Him in His home, Heaven.
