At around the mile mark, the trail levels into the floor of the valley. Dean took to leading Gail's way with this branch....snake detector.
The trail crosses the stream and meets up with the Nature Trail.

The trail crosses the stream again and continues on west side of the canyon. Most of this part of the trail is fully shaded.
1.7 miles from the Bill Cull trailhead, the falls appear. If you stay on the trail to cross the stream one last time, you miss this first view. To see the falls you need to take a few steps along the stream bed itself.
