These inch wide wing span butterflies are powder blue on top. When they rest they close their wings.

Another reason I think this butterfly was in the process of drying its wings is that by the time we got back to it, it had crawled out of the weeds and was perched on this twig about a foot off the ground.

This dandy fellow was perched on rock in the middle of the path just before we got back to the parking lot.
