I could not wait (well, I had to since I had prior commitments) to get out onto the pike to check out how the west portal turned out.
I am not one hundred percent satisfied; but the question is, am I dissatisfied enough to try again. I mixed my concrete too dry, so it did not snugg down into the mold crevices.
I did anchor the portal to the wood tunnel cover to hold it in place. I'll leave it there until I am ready to dirt fill over the tunnel and decide then if I can leave it or if I need to replace it. In the mean time, I poured the south portal with wetter concrete. I'll see how that one turns out tomorrow.
