retaining wall

The retaining wall has been done for a while. I can't quite remember the date when it was finished. We have had three days of gentle southern California rain which has helped settle the dirt. I'll have to add a little fill to the west end of this wall to get it to stand a bit straighter.

southportalI added a rock retaining wall to the south end of my tunnel. This wall will form the east end of Black Widow Gultch. There will be a gold mine served by a Gn15 rail line at the top of this embankment.

I spent this weekend (Friday late afternoon, Saturday afternoon, an hour or so today, Monday, November 22) putting in the decomposed granite for this walkway. I am told that when it dries, the rain yesterday having done a very nice job of wetting, the walk will be as hard as concrete. The walk was tamped down Satuday before the rain and again today after the rain.
